Bulk Product Status Manager

Publish, unpublish, or archive
hundreds of Shopify products at once.

Launching a new seasonal range means publishing dozens of products. Pulling discontinued lines before a sale means unpublishing them. Shopify lets you select products in the admin and change status via ‘More actions’ — but it doesn’t let you filter intelligently first, or archive in bulk. AssetScope’s Bulk Status Manager does: filter by current status, search by name, select all, apply the new status. Active, Draft, or Archived — in one operation.

Changing product status one at a time doesn’t scale.

End-of-season means editing every product individually

When a seasonal range ends, every product needs to be pulled from the storefront. In Shopify’s native admin, you can bulk-change status from the products list — but you’re working against the entire unfiltered catalogue with no way to pre-filter by vendor, collection, or tag before applying. One wrong click and the wrong products go offline.

Archiving is even more tedious

Archiving discontinued products in Shopify means opening each one individually, changing status to Archived, and saving. For a product line of 40 items, that’s 40 separate product edits just to clean up your catalogue. There is no native bulk archive tool in the Shopify admin.

New range launches require the same manual work in reverse

Launching a new range means activating products that were sitting as Draft while you prepared. One by one. AssetScope lets you filter to Draft status, select all, and publish them simultaneously — the whole launch is one operation.

Filter by status, select products, apply.

1

Filter to the right products

Choose Active, Draft, or Archived to filter the product list. Search by product name to narrow further. Every product matching your filter is shown with its current status clearly labelled.

2

Select all or a subset

Use Select All to choose every product matching your filter, or pick individual products. The count shown on the apply button confirms exactly how many products will be affected.

3

Set the new status in one operation

Choose Active, Draft, or Archived from the dropdown and apply. AssetScope updates every selected product via the Shopify API. Progress shown in real time. 50 products in under a minute.

Select products, choose a new status, apply.

Filter by current status, search by name, select all or a subset, then set the new status in one operation.

Common questions about bulk Shopify product status changes.

How do I bulk unpublish products in Shopify?
In Shopify’s admin, you can select products from the product list and use ‘More actions’ to set status. However, this works against the full unfiltered catalogue. AssetScope’s Bulk Status Manager lets you filter to Active products first, select the ones you want to unpublish, and apply Draft status in one operation. The whole process takes under a minute regardless of how many products are affected.
What’s the difference between Draft and Archived in Shopify?
Draft products are not visible on your storefront but remain in your active product list — you’ll still see them when browsing products in the Shopify admin. Archived products are removed from the active list and are no longer sold, but remain in your store for historical reporting and order lookups. Archiving is the right choice for discontinued lines; Draft is the right choice for products that will return.
Can I bulk archive Shopify products?
Not easily via the standard Shopify admin — archiving must be done one product at a time. AssetScope’s Bulk Status Manager allows you to select multiple products and archive them all in a single operation. This is particularly useful for end-of-season clearance, discontinued lines, and catalogue cleanup.
Will bulk-publishing products make them live immediately?
Yes. Setting a product to Active (published) via AssetScope makes it live on the Online Store channel immediately — there is no delay. If you want to stage a release, set the products to Draft first, then apply Active status at the right moment.
Does this require a specific Shopify plan?
No. AssetScope uses the Shopify Admin GraphQL API’s standard productUpdate mutation, which is available on all plans including Basic. There are no plan restrictions on the Bulk Status Manager feature. The app is $1.99/month on any Shopify plan.
