Adjusting inventory in Shopify one variant at a time is the definition of tedious admin

Shopify’s inventory management page shows you all your variants in a table — but editing them means clicking into each one individually. Post-stocktake reset for 400 variants? That’s 400 individual field edits. New season restock across 20 products with 15 variants each? Three hundred separate inputs. For stores with multiple fulfilment locations, the same operation multiplied by location count. There is no bulk action, no “add 20 to all selected”, and no way to filter by vendor before adjusting. AssetScope’s Bulk Inventory Editor replaces all of that with a single batch operation.

Three steps from install to first fix.

Load products

Click “Load Products” and AssetScope fetches every product with its current inventory levels from the Shopify API. Use the vendor filter to narrow down to the lines you want to adjust.

Set your adjustment rule

Choose the action — Add, Subtract, or Set to — enter the amount, and pick the location. The new stock level is calculated instantly for every product in the list so you can review before committing.

Select variants and apply

Select the products or individual variants you want to update, review the preview, then hit Apply. AssetScope updates every selected variant in one batch via the Shopify Inventory API.

Exactly what you’ll see inside the app.

Every change is previewed before it’s applied — select your products, configure your rule, and review the outcome before a single product is touched.

Everything in the tool.

Add or subtract stock in bulk

Adjust inventory by a fixed amount across every variant of every selected product in a single operation. Ideal for receiving a new shipment or correcting stock after a physical count.

Set to a fixed quantity

Zero out discontinued stock, set opening quantities for new arrivals, or reset all stock to a known level. One value, applied across every selected variant simultaneously.

Multi-location support

Choose a specific Shopify fulfilment location to update, or apply the same inventory change across all locations simultaneously. Every location registered in your Shopify store is supported.

Filter before adjusting

Filter by vendor or product type so your inventory adjustment only touches the right products. Apply a stock reset to one supplier’s lines without affecting anything else.

Zero-stock detection

Every out-of-stock variant is flagged in red before you apply any change. Review them, include or exclude them deliberately, and never accidentally leave a line item at zero that should have been restocked.

Preview before applying

Every selected variant shows its current stock and the calculated new level before anything is written. What you see in the preview is exactly what Shopify will receive when you apply.

Common questions about the inventory editor.

Can I bulk update inventory in Shopify without a CSV?
Not natively. Shopify’s inventory management page requires individual row edits with no way to add a fixed quantity to multiple variants at once. AssetScope’s Bulk Inventory Editor handles this entirely inside your Shopify admin — select all, choose your adjustment, apply in one batch.
How do I zero out all inventory in Shopify?
Load your products, select all variants, choose “Set to quantity”, enter 0, and apply. This zeros every variant of every selected product in one operation. You can filter by vendor or product type first to limit it to a specific range.
Does the Inventory Editor support multiple Shopify locations?
Yes — when you load your products, the location selector shows every fulfilment location registered in your Shopify store. You can target a single location or apply the same change across all locations simultaneously.
Can I filter products before adjusting inventory?
Yes — filter by vendor before loading to limit the product set to a specific supplier. This makes it safe to run a targeted stock reset (e.g. one vendor’s seasonal line) without touching any other products in your catalogue.
Will I see the new stock level before applying?
Yes — every selected variant shows its current stock and the calculated new level in the preview column before you apply. You can also exclude specific variants from the batch if you want to skip particular products.
